OCIDS Concept Demonstration Model
OCIDS Demonstration Model
This Model was built in conjunction with a company engineer to demonstrate the functional concept of an Optical Combat ID System under development.

The first two images, showing white Foamcore construction, depict an early prototype, using a Mini Mag Light and a scratch-built retro-reflector to prove the viability of the demonstration.

The model was built to be lightweight, simple, and reliable for its use at a NATO exercise in the UK. The housings all were made out of cardboard and Foamcore. Because the demonstration used visible light, I built a collapsible shroud in case it was held outside.
